This 2.5 acre green is a welcoming open space for recreation and campus events, connecting Franklin Field, the historic Palestra and the David Rittenhouse Laboratory Building. It is an inviting and vibrant introduction to Penn’s eastward expansion, connecting seamlessly to Penn Park and the nearby Schuylkill River Trail. Shoemaker Green features an ecologically managed lawn, and an innovative stormwater management system including underground cisterns and a rain garden. Designed by Andropogon Associates.
